Barbara Ann (Bajic) Hegadus

Barbara Ann Hegadus, 84, Shanksville, died March 25, 2021 at Countryside Personal Care Home, Friedens. Born Sept. 10, 1936 in Johnstown, daughter of Nicholas and Barbara D. (Matula) Bajic. Preceded in death by parents and husband of 63 years Lewis Hegadus Jr. Survived by daughters: Erika married to Kevin Wilt, and Celeste Hegadus, both of Shanksville; grandchildren: Kenton Wilt and girlfriend Natasha Meck, and Lexus Wilt and boyfriend Dalton Sheffield; brother and sister-in-law Theodore “Ted” (Linda) Hegadus, Stewart, FL; and brother-in-law Joseph Polacek, Daisytown. She was a graduate of Catholic High School, Johnstown, and co-owner of the former B & L Market, Shanksville, for 30 years. Member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Somerset. Barb loved watching the birds, listening to her wind chimes, tending to her flowers, and spoiling her grandkids. Family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown. Masks and social distancing are required. Viewing from 9:30 a.m. until Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Somerset. Rev. Angelo Patti celebrant.
