Barbara Jean Keslar

Barbara Jean Keslar, 75, of Berlin, passed away peacefully at home on August 19, 2025 surrounded by her family, after a 15-year battle with COPD. She was born June 19, 1950 in Connellsville, to the late Harold Lloyd and Vera (Martin) Keslar. Proceeded in death by her parents and brother, James Keslar, and his wife, Sharon. Survived by her children: Stephen (Jennifer) Sleasman, Douglas Sleasman, and Shana (Brandan) Scheffel; grandchildren Adam Sleasman, Tyler Blubaugh, Brian Blubaugh, Grace Blubaugh, and Abigail Sleasman; and brothers Richard (Beverly) and Keith (Lori) Keslar. Up until the end, Barb maintained her kindness, grace, compassion, love of family and friends, and expressed gratitude for her long life. Barb spent her younger years being a dedicated wife and loving mother to three children. She worked at various retail stores with her final place of employment being Walmart Pharmacy. She was a two-time breast cancer survivor and in 2010 she was diagnosed with COPD and placed on oxygen. She lived out the remaining years of her life, assisting with the care of her mother and grandchildren. She had a heart that overflowed with love and most importantly she had a love for Jesus. The family would like to extend their gratitude to The Patriot for providing a safe and caring respite stay, and to Community Life for all of their care and support over the last two years. At her request, there will be no funeral service. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that donations be made to the Humane Society of Somerset County, P.O. Box 182, Somerset, PA 15501.
