Barry Lynn Burkett

Barry Lynn Burkett, 67, Shanksville, died August 11, 2020 at home. Born Oct. 7, 1952 in Somerset, son of Melvin and Blanche (Lape) Burkett. Preceded in death by his parents, brothers Robert and David Burkett, and his dog Riley Jo. Survived by his wife of 30 years the former Carol Jean Duppstadt; children: Brianna Burkett, Brian Edmonson, and Todd (Jill) Edmonson; granddaughters: Paislee, Mylee, and Everlee; brothers: Ronald (Vera), Melvin Jr., and Terry (Patti) Burkett; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was a 1971 graduate of Somerset High School and retired from Stoystown Tank and Steel. Member of Unity United Church of Christ. He loved Ford and Mopar vehicles, the outdoors, camping at Friendship Village, his grandchildren, and talking with friends and family. Family will receive friends from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday and 1 p.m. until service at 2 p.m. Saturday at Unity U.C.C., 2074 Huckleberry Hwy, Berlin. Masks are required. Rev. Jay Shaffer officiating.
