Betty Arlene Hay, 73, Fairhope, was called home to tend God’s garden July 15, 2020 at Rest Assured Living Center. Born Jan. 8, 1947 in Meyersdale, daughter of Albert Sr. and Malinda (Crissinger) Keefer. Preceded in death by parents and brother, Albert, Jr. Survived by her husband of 54 years, Carl A. Hay, Jr.; children Dwayne (Joy) Hay and Carla (Andrew) Chonko, both of Fairhope; grandchildren: Alex, Sarah, Jackson, Josiah, Gabby, Ashley (special friend Bill), Autumn, Andrew, August, and Angel; sisters Jane (Lewis) Altfather and Beatrice (Samuel) LaRue; brothers Paul (Sandy), Bruce, and Robert (Leslie) Keefer; sisters-in-law Nancy Keefer and Karen Glessner; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was a 1964 graduate of Meyersdale High School and was a farm wife and mother. She attended Hostetler Church of the Brethren. She was active in church all her life. She milked cows with her husband for 40 years and enjoyed working on the farm including tending the animals, flower and vegetable gardening, canning and freezing her produce, and caring for her home and family. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Deaner Funeral Home, Berlin where service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday. Rev. Irvin Ernst officiating. Per state mandate, masks are required. Interment Mt. Lebanon Cemetery, Glencoe.
