Betty Lou Carnell, 69, of Berlin, formerly of Central City, died January 11, 2023 at Meadow View Nursing Center. Born Feb. 2, 1953 in Montgomery, AL, daughter of William H. and Antonia (Lopez) Chambers.

Preceded in death by parents; husband James Carnell Sr., and sisters: Felicia Crockett and Velma Kennedy.

Survived by children: Staci Anne (Dwight) Shaffer, Susan (William) Snyder, and James (Jamie) Carnell Jr.; grandchildren: Amber D. (David) Wright, Dwight Shaffer III, Shawnee Rayne (Michael) Shaw, Gaby Snyder, William Snyder, and James D., Bryan S., Hunter G., and Bailey Marie Carnell; great grandchildren: Kelsin and Selena; brothers: William (Mary) and Ray (Rosa) Chambers; and sisters: Clara (Donald) Brechtal and Diana (John) Volpe.
