Betty "Etta" Gene (Marker) Custer

Betty “Etta” Gene Custer, 95, Berlin, died February 28, 2025 at Meadow View Nursing Center. Born June 8, 1929 in Gray, daughter of Wilmer and Cora (Spaugey) Marker. Preceded in death by parents, grandchildren Trisha, Terry, and Kristen Custer, great grandson Lucas Hayman, brothers Wilmer Jr., John, Edgar, and Gordon Marker, and sisters Ethel Witt and Glenda Weimer. Survived by her husband of 77 years, Dale; children: Allen married to the former Pam McQuade, Larry married to the former Pamela Vaughan, Mark married to the former Pam Brant, and Greg married to the former Tracey Bowlby; grandchildren: Shellby Custer, Holly (Jonathan) Hayman, Colby (Amanda) Custer, Jason (Ginger) Custer, Carrie (Craig Enos) Custer, Courtney Custer, Candice (Tony) DiPasquale, and Jared (Abby) Custer; “adopted” granddaughter Kathy Blough; great grandchildren: Trevor Kersinsteiner, Samantha Hayman, Kaitlin, Colton, Adler, Amelia, and Josiah Custer, and Christopher and Alexander DiPasquale; and brother Lawrence (Rose) Marker. She was a 1946 graduate of Garrett High School where she was Salutatorian. Member of Brothersvalley Church where she was a deaconess. She enjoyed golfing, bowling, traveling, and walking. Family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday March 7th at Deaner Funeral Home, Berlin, where service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday. Pastor Ronald D. Beachley officiating.
