Betty Joanne Flick, 86 of Rest Assured Living Center, Meyersdale, formerly of Kantner, passed away peacefully into the arms of Jesus where she was met by her husband Ray Dean on Oct. 21, 2021. Betty was born Feb. 22, 1935 to Raymond and Anna (Stumpf) Hollis. She is preceded in death by parents; brothers Merle and Gerald “Jerry” Hollis; sister Lois Rigo and infant sister Marguerite. She is survived by her loving daughter Connie married to Dan Weyant who she loved like a son, Somerset; son Ray “Spike” Flick, Maine; former daughter in-law Sheila Berkebile Flick, Kantner; grandchildren: Dustin (Emily) Weyant, Travis (Brooke) Weyant, Luke (Brenna) Weyant, Wendy Sue (Kevin) Swanson, Leslie (Allen) Rose, William “Billy” (Andrea) Flick, Jason Flick, Barbara (Jeff) Truscott, and James (Jody) Berkebile; eight great grandchildren; six great great grandchildren; and last remaining sibling Jacqueline Joy McKain.
Betty worked as a garment worker in many area sewing factories. She retired from Fleetwood Folding Trailers at 72 years of age. Betty loved sewing, making blankets, and gardening. She was a member of Reading Grace Brethren Church. She lived at Rest Assured Living Center for the last 12 months, where she was surrounded by many friends and enjoyed the last days of her life. A service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 31 at Reading Grace Brethren Church, Stoystown. Pastor Larry Weigle officiating. Interment Odd Fellows Cemetery, Stoystown.
