Carol Jean (Platt) Burcaw

Carol Jean Burcaw, 84, Berlin, died August 24, 2025 at UPMC Altoona. Born December 23, 1940 in Berlin, daughter of Henry Jr. and Marie (Ferner) Platt. Preceded in death by parents, first husband Benjamin F. Dickey, and second husband James Burcaw. Survived by daughters: Tracy Dickey and Lori (Lynn) Hoppert; grandsons Landon (Sarah) and Lance Hoppert; great grandsons: LJ and Elliott Hoppert; great granddaughter Sophia Hoppert; and half-sister Debbie Willkow. Carol was a retired packer for Snyder of Berlin. Member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Berlin, the Knotty Knotters, and the Berlin American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed scrapbooking, line dancing, playing bass with the Country Doves, cruises, and spending time with her family and friends. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Berlin. Viewing from 10 a.m. until the service at 11 a.m. Thursday at the church. Rev. Robert Keplinger officiating. Interment Berlin I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
