Catherine Ellen (Wingard) Lasure

Catherine Ellen Lasure, 94, Stoystown, passed away Nov. 13, 2021. She was born March 15, 1927 in Conemaugh Twp., Somerset County, daughter of the late Robert D. and Mary A. (Blough) Wingard. She was married to George E. Lasure Sr. who preceded her in death along with granddaughter Brianna Lasure, great grandson Gabriel Friedline, and brother Robert Wingard.

She is survived by children: Robert (Sue) Mishler, Belinda (Harold) Stairs, Roxanne (Howard) Black, George (Eileen) Lasure, Dwight (Cathy) Lasure, and Douglas (Beverly) Lasure; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; and sister Betty Gindlesperger.

She was a graduate of Conemaugh Twp. High School. She loved to spend time with her family and was always ready for a family or holiday celebration, picnics and time on the porch and/or family vacation time. She loved to travel and was always ready to go for a new adventure. Likewise, Catherine loved game times with family and friends and was a formidable opponent, especially with Phase 10. Catherine loved her church family at Laurel Hill Gospel Tabernacle and was a Sunday School and Bible School teacher of preschool children for many years. Also, she enjoyed time with her WDS Ladies friends.
