Charles H. Burk Jr., 85, of Berlin, died April 19, 2021 at Rest Assured Living Center. Born May 25, 1935 in Brothersvalley Twp., son of Charles Sr. and Elsie Mae (Will) Burk. Preceded in death by parents, wife the former Jean Eileen Boyer, son Robert Charles Burk, and sisters Betty Cooper and Connie Mack. Survived by daughters: Carol (Norman) Croner and Cynthia (David) Miller, both of Berlin; grandchildren: Christy (Justin) Poorbaugh, Melissa (Bryan) Leininger, Cassey (Michael) DeBiase, Robert (Breanne) Layton, Brittney Miller, Janelle (Brian) Mowry, and Candace (Ryan) Donaldson; great grandchildren: Chloe and Tony DeBiase, Caden Donaldson, Cayley, Gage, and Pyper Poorbaugh, Sadie and Parker Leininger, Daniel and Lucas Layton, and Elle and Quinn Mowery; sisters: Elda Mills, Dorrie (Bob) Harber, Elaine (Gene) Hillegas, and Linda (Tim) Zimmerman; sisters and brothers-in-law: Hazel Breig, Thelma Boyer, Ray Boyer, and Ralph Leister; and long time friend Robert Weigle. He was a 1953 graduate of Berlin Brothersvalley High School. Former owner-operator of Burk Coal Co. and Roxbury Sporting Goods Inc., and retired Mining Inspector for MSHA. He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, and a former member of New Baltimore Sportsman’s Club and Mountain Field and Stream. Charles was an avid golfer, and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Family will receive friends from 9 a.m. until service at 11 a.m. Thursday at Faith Lutheran Church. The service will be live streamed on the Deaner Funeral Home Facebook Page. Rev.
