Charlotte J. (Glessner) Chonko

Charlotte J. Chonko, 92, Berlin, died February 25, 2024 at Meadow View Nursing Center. Born May 29, 1931 in Berlin, daughter of Frank R. and Alverda G. (Stevanus) Glessner. Preceded in death by parents, husband Andrew Chonko, Sr., sister Miriam Glessner, and sister-in-law Faye Glessner. Survived by her sons: William, David, Theodore (Suzette), Andrew, Jr. (Carla), and Timothy Chonko; daughter Ann (Thomas) Miller; 25 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; 6 great great grandchildren; brother Robert F. Glessner; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was a 1949 graduate of Berlin Brothersvalley High School. Member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Berlin, Berlin Area Historical Society and Somerset County Military Family Support Group. She enjoyed gardening, animals, being outdoors, and spending time with her family. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Deaner Funeral Home, Berlin, where service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday. Rev. Keith Grimm officiating. Interment Berlin I.O.O.F.
