Daniel E. "Boone" Hillegass

Daniel E. “Boone” Hillegass, 76, of Fairhope, passed away peacefully at home on November 22, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born on February 7, 1949, he was the son of Clarence and Ruth Hillegass. Dan was a 1967 graduate of Berlin High School and worked for New Enterprise Stone & Lime for 40 years, retiring in 2012. He enjoyed raising livestock on his hobby farm, spending time outdoors as an avid hunter, and watching his grandchildren in their many activities. He is survived by his devoted wife of 47 years, the former Karen Heiple; his children, Heath (Michelle) Scurfield, Kami (Chris)Wheeler, and Brock (Shannon) Hillegass; his grandchildren, Alexis (Caleb), Tucker, Ella, Ava, Taylor, Gavin, Boone, Ruthie, and Devon; and great grandson Bentley, all of whom brought immense joy to his life.
