David Clark Merringer, 80, Stoystown, died June 5, 2025 at home. Born November 10, 1944 in San Francisco, CA, son of Clark and Leona (Dove) Merringer. Preceded in death by parents and sister Karen Merringer. Survived by his wife of 57 years, the former Suzanne Koontz; son Jason Merringer (Maggy Miller); daughter Jill (Christopher) Kalaha; grandchildren: Tasha Merringer (Giovanni Salmeron), Tess Merringer (Sterling Vamos), and Kinter, Kylan, and Kyree Kalaha; great grandchildren: Natalia, Nayeli, and Nevaeh Salmeron, and Lorenzo Vamos; brother of: Dennis (Elaine) Merringer, Brenda (Michael) Zimmerman, and Dr. Mickey Merringer. He was a graduate of Jenner Boswell Joint High School and was a Vietnam War Navy Veteran. He was retired from AT&T. He attended Horner Lutheran Church. Member of Robert P. Hite Post 257 American Legion. He enjoyed caring for his ducks and fish at the pond he built. He loved nature, building blue bird houses, and always working on a project. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown. Viewing from 10 a.m. until service at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Horner Lutheran Church.
