Dennis Allen Rapp

Dennis Allen Rapp, 77, of Friedens, died Nov. 13, 2024 at UPMC Somerset. Born Dec. 7, 1946 in Pottstown, son of Francis L. and Diana J. (Bell) Rapp. Preceded in death by parents, and brother-in-law Harold Haring. Survived by his wife of 57 years the former Sharon Houck; sons: Bryan N. (Christine), of Irwin, Bradley C., of Charlotte, NC, and Brett A., of Raleigh, NC; grandchildren: Cassady, Zachary, Jesikah, Madison, McKenzie and Drew Rapp; brother Francis L. Jr. (Sally), of New Holland; and sister Jeanne Haring, of Pottstown. He was a 1964 graduate of Spring Ford High School, received a B.S. from Bloomsburg University in 1971, and a M.S. from Indiana University of PA in 1977. He is a Vietnam Army Veteran, and retired from Cresson Secure Treatment Unit. Member of Friedens Lutheran Church and Stoystown American Legion Post 257. Dennis served over 40 years as a PIAA Girl’s Softball Umpire, worked part-time as a van driver for Western PA Sports Medicine and in the pro shop at Kings Mountain Resort. He was also an avid golfer.
