Donald Glenn Markley

Donald Glenn Markley, 82, Boswell, died Feb. 13, 2021 at Countryside Personal Care Home. Born Aug. 7, 1938 in Johnstown, son of Herbert and Nellie (Hostetler) Markley. Preceded in death by parents; wife the former Nancy Jean Davis; and 5 siblings. Survived by children: Daniel married to the former Marilyn Kris, Johnstown, Dana Markley, Central City, Heidi Henry, North Carolina, and Melissa married to Addam Pristas, Stoystown; grandchildren: Jacob, Maria, Leah, Zachary, Alexander, Lauren Grace, Ryan (Holly), Raya (Derek), Mitchel, and Max; great grandchildren: Dawson and Thea; and siblings: Catherine Thomas, Willard (Carole) Markley, Barry Markley, and Donna Markley. He was a graduate of Franklin High School, Johnstown and served in the U.S. Army. He was retired from Bethlehem Steel, Johnstown and DeVilbiss, Somerset. Member of Reading Grace Brethren Church where he was a Deacon, and Stoystown American Legion. He enjoyed spending time with family, and helping family and friends as needed. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown. Masks and social distancing required. Viewing from 10 a.m. until service at 11 a.m. Thursday at Reading Grace Brethren Church. Rev. Larry Weigle officiating. Military rites by the Somerset Co. Honor Guard.
