Dorothy Louise (Speicher) Spangler

Dorothy Louise Spangler, 96, Stoystown, died March 26, 2022 at the home of her daughter. Born February 25, 1926 in Gray, daughter of James Levi and Cora Stella (Gilbert) Speicher. Preceded in death by parents, husband Lloyd, brothers William and Jack Speicher, and grandson Douglas J. Veres, Jr. Survived by children: Gary J. “Skip” married to the former Vickie Walls, Sharon married to David Fox, both of Stoystown, and David married to the former Debbie Shaffer, Hollsopple; grandchildren: Tonya Spangler (Blake Beeghly), Gary L. (Jessica) Spangler, Justin Veres (Abby Baker), Melissa (Jesse) Stevanus, David Spangler, Jr., and Rebecca Grimme (Rick McKee); granddaughter-in-law Carrie Fleegle Veres;13 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren. She was a graduate of Somerset High School. She was retired from J.C. and Me sewing factory with over 40 years. Member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, Stoystown, Stoyestown Area Historical Society, and Stoystown American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, long car rides, and spending time with family. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown. Viewing from 10 a.m. until service at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Paul’s U.C.C.  Pastor Sharon Fox officiating. Interment Odd Fellows Cemetery, Stoystown.
