Dorothy LaRue (Duppstadt) Troy

Dorothy LaRue Troy, 93, Somerset formerly of Friedens, died October 13, 2023 at Somerset Senior Living. Born March 16, 1930 in Reels Corner, daughter of Elwood and Mae (King) Duppstadt. Preceded in death by parents, husband Clarence Richard “Dick” Troy, grandson Marshall Troy, sisters Ellen Custer and Lois Duppstadt, and brothers Donald, Jay, Orie, Tom, Claude, Kenneth, Elwood Jr., and Jerry Duppstadt. Survived by children: Linda married to Ed Leer, and Randy Troy married to the former Emily Emert; grandson Brennen Troy; sisters: Shirley (Jim) Otto, Minnie Davis, Edna Stutzman, Janet Duppstadt, and Emma Jean Burket; brother Merle Duppstadt; and sister-in-law Pat Troy. She was a graduate of Shanksville Stonycreek High School. Former employee of So-Neet and Somerset Manufacturing. Member of Friedens Lutheran Church where she was a Happy Sewer and former Sunday School teacher. She enjoyed walking and received many trophies. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Friedens Lutheran Church. Viewing 1 p.m. until service at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the church. Rev. John Barichivich officiating.
