Dwight Elwood Maust, 100, Berlin, died Dec. 4, 2018 at Somerset Hospital. Born Jan. 6, 1918 in Brothersvalley Twp., son of Francis and Mary (Coleman) Maust. Preceded in death by parents, wife the former Marjorie Christner, brothers: Donald, Ward, Eugene, and Robert Maust, and sisters: Marian Hittie, Ella Hittie, Jeanett Maust, and Ruth Menear. Survived by daughter Sally Hoover; granddaughters: Tracey (Thaddeus) Kiesnowski, and Kimberly (Michael) Beam, all of Berlin; great grandchildren: Daria, Emil, and Estera Kiesnowski, and Katherine and Josie Beam; and sister Evelyn Mae Ringler, Berlin. He was a World War II Marine Corps. Veteran where he was a sharpshooter. He was a farmer, steelworker, and a partner in Maust Brothers Garage. Member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Berlin, American Legion Post 445, Berlin, and former member of the Berlin Cemetery Assoc. He enjoyed raising and training horses, and watching the Pittsburgh Pirates. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Deaner Funeral Home, Berlin where service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday. Rev. Tom Sprowls officiating. Interment Berlin I.O.O.F.
