Edwin Harold Baker

Edwin Harold Baker, 93, Friedens, died Aug. 12, 2018 at Somerset In Touch Hospice House. Born Apr. 18, 1925 in Johnstown, son of Edwin Harold and Arvilla (Blough) Baker. Preceded in death by parents, wife of 67 years the former Mary Louise Hillegass, son Gregory L. Baker, and sisters Helen Grace Baker and Alma Goehres. Survived by daughters: Bonnie married to Emilio Williams, Beth married to Bryan Schrock, and Melissa married to Mark Shaffer; daughter-in-law Pamela Baker; grandchildren: Daniel and David (Gabrielle) Baker, Trevor and Justin Schrock, Matthew Reilly, Ashley (Abishia) Dively, and Tanner Shaffer; and great grandchildren: Clara and Nolan Baker, and Ellie Dively. He was a 1943 graduate of Somerset Twp. High School and a World War II Army Air Force Veteran. Retired from U.S. Steel, Johnstown. Member of Friedens Lutheran Church, D.A.V., and Somerset Lodge 358 F. and A.M. where he was a past Master. Family will receive friends from 9 a.m. until Memorial Service at 11 a.m. Thursday at Friedens Lutheran Church. Rev. Doug Knupp officiating. Inurnment Somerset County Memorial Park.
