Elaine May Benedict

Elaine May Benedict, 41, of Friedens, died Oct. 5, 2025 at UPMC Somerset. Born April 3, 1984 in Waynesboro, daughter of Roger and Margaret (Metzger) Garber, of Chambersburg. Also survived by her husband of 23 years, Benjamin Benedict; children: Dustin-19, Lorna-16, Lucy-11, and Meg-6; siblings: Marla (Kevin) Oberholser, Angela (Dennis) North, Kristin (Brenton) Shoup, Lowell (Kaci) Garber, and Denise Garber; father and mother-in-law: Omar and Loraine Benedict; sisters and brothers-in-law: Craig (Kimberly), Curtis (Suzanne), Aaron (Kala), Bethany, and Matthew Benedict; numerous nieces and nephews; and step grandmother Rita Garber. She was a member of Old German Baptist Brethren Church-Stonycreek. She had a gift for hospitality, with a smile; and a heart to serve those she loved and friends in the local community. Viewing Wednesday and Thursday from 1 to 4 p.m. and 5 to 8 p.m. at the Old German Baptist Brethren Church-Stonycreek meetinghouse, 898 Piedmont Rd., Somerset, PA 15501, where funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday.
