Elsie M. (Shaulis) Zinovenko

Elsie M. Zinovenko, 96, of Stoystown, died August 20, 2025 at Forest Hills Personal Care Home. Born May 12, 1929 in Friedens, daughter of Ira and Ursula (Naugle) Shaulis. Preceded in death by parents, sisters: Evelyn Gilbert and Dorothy Shaulis, and brothers: Warren, Kenneth, Edward, Robert and Paul Shaulis. Survived by daughter Alexis Zinovenko, grandchildren: Stephanie married to Nicholas Carroll, and Nicholas Zinovenko, and sister Jane Snyder. She was a 1947 graduate of Stoystown High School, a graduate of Temple School of Nursing, and the University of Pittsburgh. She was a retired registered nurse and director of nursing for Somerset State Hospital. Member of Horner Lutheran Church, where she was in the Knotty Chix Quilters. She enjoyed quilting, riding her bike by the Quemahoning Dam, and traveling. Family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until a funeral service at 11 a.m. Monday at Horner Lutheran Church, Stoystown. Rev. Regina Holliday officiating. Inurnment Horner-Mt.Tabor Cemetery.
