Elwood D. Yoder

Elwood D. Yoder, 77, Berlin, died Jan. 7, 2022 at The Patriot. Born March 11, 1944 in Friedens, son of Bruce L. and Dorothy (Leazier) Yoder. Preceded in death by parents and brother Samuel. Survived by his wife of 56 years, the former Sherry Liberty; children: Joseph J. and Steven E. Yoder, and Susan C. (Chad) Mostoller; grandchildren: Holly (Matt) Dull, Samantha (Nolan) Schneider, Courtney Pryal, Stephaney Pryal, and Jordan Young; great grandchildren: Grace, Ezekiel, Loki, and Lemmy; sisters Mary Lou (Tom) Ansell and Carol (Elwood) Kimmel; and several nieces and nephews. He was a 1962 graduate of Shanksville Stonycreek High School and a Vietnam War Army veteran. He was a retired dairy farmer. Member of Rayman Church of the Brethren and Shanksville American Legion. Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown where a private service will be held at the convenience of the family. Pastor Chuck Mahon officiating.
