Emily Grace "Gram" Fritz, 104, of Berlin, died January 18, 2025 at Meadow View Nursing Center. Born May 28, 1920 in Berlin, daughter of Charles L. and Rose Ella (Dreyer) Maust. Preceded in death by parents; husband H. Henry Fritz; daughter Ellen Elizabeth Hay; son-in-law William N. Hay; sisters: Eleanor Mae Maust, Evora Marie Hostetler, Edith Rae Shipley, and Bernice Elaine Altfather; and brothers: Richard Dreyer Maust, Harry Woodrow Maust, Warren Frederick Maust, Thomas Irvin Maust, and Charles Edward Maust. Survived by granddaughter Jennifer (Derek) Hoyman; grandson: Jeremy (Susan) Hay; great grandsons: Noah and Micah Gilmore and Lucas, Jacob, and Isaac Hay; David R. (Gloria) Miller who she raised as a son; grandchildren: Amy (Kevin) Jewell, Mark (Natasha) Miller, and Phillip (Amanda) Miller; and great grandchildren: Gabriel, Rachel, Samuel, and Michael Jewell, and Sofia, Keira, and Brynlee Miller. She was a 1938 graduate of Berlin Brothersvalley High School and a retired tax collector for Brothersvalley Twp. Member of Berlin Brethren Church, where she served as a deaconess and belonged to the Young at Heart Sunday School Class, Rebekah Assembly of PA, and the Hillcrest Grange. She enjoyed reading, word search puzzles, spending time with her family, and making knot blankets. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Deaner Funeral Home, Berlin. Viewing from 1 p.m. until a funeral service at 2 p.m. Saturday at Berlin Brethren Church. Rev. Tom Sprowls officiating. Interment Berlin I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
