Eugene “Gene” “Chip” Chipelock, 80, of Berlin, formerly of Youngstown, OH, died Dec. 17, 2024 at Meadow View Nursing Center. Born Aug. 3, 1944 in Berlin, son of Wasco and Mary (Mohilchock) Chipelock. Preceded in death by parents; sisters: Helen Trulick, Anna Webb, and Katherine Lutzic; and brothers: Frank Boburchock and Pete Chipelock. Survived by nephews: John (Sheri) Trulick and Paul (Michele) Trulick; nieces: Carol (Jerry) Darr, Karen Ruscio, and Linda (Joe) Klages; special friends: Jay Engleka and Ray Engleka; and numerous other nieces, nephews, and friends. He was a 1962 graduate of Berlin Brothersvalley High School and a U.S. Army Vietnam Era Veteran. Member of SS Peter and Paul Russian Orthodox Church, Goodtown, Am. Legion Post 445 and the Home Assoc., and UAW Local 1112. Gene was a resident of the Warren/Youngstown area for over 45 years, where he was a member of the Eagles Club, Creation Club, Catholic War Veterans, and the Youngstown Road Runners Club, where he was inducted into the Hall of Fame. He enjoyed Pittsburgh and Berlin Sports, golfing, traveling, running, and spending time with his family and friends. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Interim Hospice for their compassion and care they gave Gene in his final days. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Deaner Funeral Home, Berlin. Funeral Service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at SS Peter and Paul Russian Orthodox Church. Rev. Fr. Elijah J. Bremer officiating. Military Honors at the church will be provided by the Berlin Veterans Home. Interment Pine Hill Orthodox Cemetery, Berlin.
