Eugene Neil Pile, 83, Friedens, died July 20, 2020 at home. Born Feb. 26, 1937 in Somerset, son of Eugene “Gene” and Helen (Snyder) Pile. Preceded in death by parents, wife of 63 years the former Eunice Hottle, and grandson Adam Marsh. Survived by children: Hollie Joy Nelson and fiancé John Welsch, DuBois, Eugene “Buster” II married to the former Sarah Gillespie, Friedens, and Valerie Koreny and fiancé Mike Williams, Winchester, VA; grandchildren: Ryan (Nicole) Nelson, Travis (Emily) Nelson, Chelsea (Zachary) Kocher, Emily (Dawson) Hoffman, Cody Pile, Eleanor Pile, Tanya Marsh, and Shane Koreny; and great grandchildren: Isabella Ebach, Conor Kocher, and Ethan Nelson. He was a 1955 graduate of Somerset Joint High School. He was employed at IXL Creamery in Friedens for 25 years, former owner of The Bonanza Restaurant, Central City, and was a retired Guard at the Somerset County Jail. Member of Friedens Lutheran Church, F.O.E. Aerie 1801, Somerset, New Baltimore Sportsmen’s Club, Mosquito Creek Sportsman’s Club, Tall Pines Hunting Camp, Jenner Rod and Gun Club, Stoystown Sons of the American Legion Post 257, the Masons, the Shriners, and was a lifetime member of Friedens Volunteer Fire Co. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing, and golfing. A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday at Friedens Lutheran Cemetery. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
