Florence A. Shaffer, 99, Stoystown, died May 18, 2026 at Laurel View Village. Born December 11, 1926 in Hooversville, daughter of Lloyd and Margaret (Hughs) Shaffer. Preceded in death by her parents, husband Clair W., daughter Valli Hall, and infant sister Amanda Shaffer. Survived by her sons Kerry (Deborah), of Gladwin, MI, and Michael (Susan Wallin) Shaffer, Round Lake, NY; son-in-law William (Fran) Hall; grandchildren: Christopher (Laura) Hall, Melanie (Cory) Brummeler, Amanda (William) Bredl, Lindsay (Michael) Mastrogiovanni, Amy (Jonathan) Archey, Kelly Topa, and Stephen (Katie) Montanaro; and 15 great grandchildren. She was a graduate of Hooversville High School. Member of the former Trinity Lutheran Church, Hooversville. Florence was funny, smart, politically inclined, could be cutting when she felt like it, and had her greatest interest in cooking, gardening, and endless crossword puzzles. The family would like to give a special thank you to Laurel View Village and Windber Hospice. Viewing from 11 a.m. until service at 12 noon Saturday at the Deaner Cremation Center, 976 Barn St., Hooversville. Rev. Eric Lasure officiating. Interment P.O.S. of A. Cemetery, Hooversville.
