Franklin Kimmel Obituary

Franklin Delano Kimmel, 84, Fairfax, VA, formerly of Glencoe, died May 28, 2023 at the Adler Center in Aldie, VA. Born Dec. 9, 1938 in Glencoe, son of George W. and Nellie M. (Campbell) Kimmel. Preceded in death by parents, five brothers and five sisters. Survived by his wife of 61 years, the former Nancy Platt; sons Jeff Kimmel and Brian (Bettina) Kimmel; granddaughters Elizabeth and Maya Kimmel; and brother Robert Kimmel. He was a 1956 graduate of Berlin Brothersvalley High School and an Army veteran. He was retired from the Fairfax County School Board. He enjoyed the outdoors, tinkering with cars, and spending time with his granddaughters. A private graveside service will be held at Brotherton Pike Cemetery. Rev. Jay Shaffer officiating.
