Frederick I. Rader

Frederick I. Rader, “Fred” “Pap”, 87 years, formerly of Bernville, packed his bags for the big hunting lodge in the sky on Sunday, December 11, 2022.  He was surrounded by family, including his three daughters.  They were able to share one last song with him moments before his passing.  He was the husband of the late Virginia M. (Yeugelvitz) Rader for 65 years until she passed away in August of 2021.  Born in Johnstown, he was a son of the late Edward and Maldon (Mauk) Rader. He retired from Airco/BOC Gases, where he was a plant supervisor for many years.  Fred enjoyed hunting, fishing. and being outdoors. He spent the last year at Forest Lake Club enjoying all that nature had to offer.  Fred was a dedicated family man especially to his daughters and had many dear friends with whom he included as family. Survivors: daughters, Kathleen M. Feather (William) of Salisbury, NC, Debra A. Christman (David) of Pittsburgh, and Carrie Yocum (John) of Allentown; sister, Donna Trent (Richard) of Johnstown, brother, Garry Rader (Linda) of Friedens, grandchildren, Billie Marie and Kaliam “KC” Feather, Christopher (Jackie), Keith (fiancé, Kelly), and Anthony Christman, and Evan, Alyssa, and Blayne Yocum; great grandchildren, Cayden, Mason, Abigail, and Alexander; nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by an infant son, David, and brothers, Ronald, Leroy “Sonny”, Dennis “Tommy”, and Larry Rader. Services: 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, December 17, at Deaner Funeral Home, 133 E. Main St., Stoystown, PA 15563. Visitation will be from 9:00 to 10:00 A.M.  Interment, Odd Fellows Cemetery.
