George R. Faidley, Jr.

George Robert Faidley Jr., 73, went to his Heavenly home on April 30, 2020, at UPMC Somerset Hospital. Born March 14, 1947, in Lincoln Township, the son of George R. Sr. and Bessie (Lyons) Faidley. Preceded in death by parents, daughter Melissa Kay and brother Ray Kenneth. Survived by his wife of 48 years, the former Sharen K. Landis; son George R. (Mindy) Faidley III,  Shanksville, and daughter Amanda Sue and friend Jon Moon, Pittsburgh, grandson Braxton Stone Faidley, Shanksville, who he dearly loved and cherished; sister Shirley (Bill) McDonald, Archdale, NC; brothers David (Donna), Friedens, Randy (Judy), Rockwood, and Larry (Tracy), Somerset, and dear friends Jesse and Henrietta Hickerson, Flemingsburg, KY. He also was survived by many brothers- and sisters-in-law. A 1966 graduate of Somerset Area High School, he served in the U.S. Air Force from 1966 to 1970. George loved animals, especially horses, since childhood with Rusty, his Doberman, being his current pet. He also enjoyed riding his motorcycle. He was a member of Berlin Brethren Church and Berlin VFW. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude’s Hospital, PO Box 50, Memphis, TN, 38106 and Ramey's Chapel United Methodist Church, 2891 Mt. Carmel Road, Flemingsburg, KY, 41041. Due to the current health concerns, a private viewing and service will be held at Mt. Lebanon Cemetery, Glencoe. Graveside Military Honors by the Berlin Veterans Home.
