Guy Arthur Raupach, Sr., 90, Glencoe, went home to the Lord on Oct. 21, 2018 on the farm. Born July 17, 1928 in Glencoe, son of Frederick M. and Beulah I. (Leister) Raupach. Preceded in death by parents, son Terrence Paul, and brothers Ray, Dale, Bob, Jack, and Larry. Survived by his wife, the former Geraldine E. Landis, to whom he would have celebrated 70 wonderful years of life together on Nov. 24, 2018; sons Guy A. Jr. and wife Barbara, Grafton, WV, and Michael C. and wife Renee, Garrett; grandchildren: Marc (Laura), Melissa (Troy) Kimbrew, Jacqueline (Tom) Spencer, Mikey Jr. (Tunisia), Amber (Adam) Lavan, Autumn (George) Childers, and Carter; great grandchildren: Zac, Sydney, Ali, Tanner, Kolbe, Colton, Slayton, Graceyn, Halle, Ashlynn, Bella, and Austin; brother James (Donna) Raupach, sister Sandra (Paul) Keefer, both of Glencoe, and numerous nieces and nephews. He retired from CSX Railroad in 1988 with over 42 years of service with the B & O, Chessie Systems predecessor railroads. His faithfulness to serving others was exemplary. Member of the former Mt. Lebanon Church and current member of New Hope Church, where he held numerous positions in service to the Lord. He was a skilled carpenter, plumber, electrician, mason, and mechanic. Whenever someone called, he was there. He was truly an amazingly inspirational person to all who ever knew or held a conversation with him. First diagnosed with CLL Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma and battled numerous times, always stating “Not in any pain”. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially family reunions on the farm, and Thanksgiving breakfast with the family in the “Ole Log House”, buckwheat cakes and sausage included. He looked forward to visits on the porch swing with anyone who stopped and wanted to talk. He enjoyed all his “Lil Jo’s” and watching his buddies, whether in his shanty or standing at the kitchen sink. He will truly be celebrated by all who knew him. He was a 50 year plus member of the Harrisburg Consistory and served in the 1st Cavalry from 1946 to 1948. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Deaner Funeral Home, Berlin, where service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday. Rev. Joe Brown and Rev. Tom Sprowls officiating.
