Hannah B. (Kanagy) Peight

Hannah B. Peight, age 79, passed away on Feb. 6, 2023 after an unexpected short illness. Born Nov. 24, 1943, in Bellville, PA to Ezra and Lavina Kanagy, Hannah married Henry B. Peight on Nov 21, 1967, who passed away on Oct. 4, 2015.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Aquilla; two infant grandsons, and an infant granddaughter. She will be greatly missed by her 4 surviving children: James & Mary Peight of Bedford, PA; Jonathan Peight of Bedford, PA; Marlin & Lavina Stoltzfus of Chuckey, TN; and Jesse & Jani Peight of Heavener, OK.

She will also be greatly missed by her 24 grandchildren;3 great grandchildren; and her brothers and sisters, Jacob & Katie Kanagy, Ezra & Eva Kanagy, Lavina Swarey , Ezra & Leah Peight, Jacob & Nannie Peight, and Urie & Martha Kanagy. She was an example of true Christ-like loving-kindness, patience, and unselfishness until her last breath. She passed away surrounded by her family at her daughter, Lavina’s home in TN.

A viewing will be held at 3 pm at the Greene County Mennonite Church in Greeneville, TN, Thursday, Feb. 9, 2023 followed by a memorial service at 5:30 pm. A viewing will also be held at Somerset Mennonite Fellowship in Stoystown, PA, from 4-8 pm, Friday, Feb.10, 2023 and the funeral service will be at 10 am, Saturday, Feb. 11, 2023, also at Somerset Mennonite Fellowship.
