Harry Huzsek

Harry Huzsek, 76, Hooversville, died September 15, 2024 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital. Born January 30, 1948 in Somerset, son of John J. and Delores J. “Dottie” (Hironimus) Huzsek. Preceded in death by parents and infant brother Richard. Survived by his wife of 52 years, the former Betty Jean Walker; daughters: Lori (Scott) Kopco and Kimberly (Chris) Yonish; grandchildren: Jacob and Ryan Kopco, and Caden and Cambree Yonish; brothers and sisters: Linda Holsopple, John (Ruth) Huzsek, Dianna (Yoost) Weijers, Benji (Patricia) Huzsek, and Patricia (Donald) Koenig; brothers and sister-in-law: Dave Walker and Sande (Rich) Guilbert; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was a graduate of Forbes High School and a Vietnam War Navy Veteran, having received a service medal with a bronze star. Harry was a retired supervisor for Indian Lake Borough. Member of Tire Hill Covenant Brethren Church where he was a deacon and worship leader. He spent his whole life praising God through music, most recently playing bass with the “Glory Guys”. He organized and ran the Fall Harvest Gospel Music Festival for 30 years at Camp Harmony. Harry was known for putting family and friends ahead of himself and he was loved by all. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Deaner Cremation Center, 976 Barn St., Hooversville, where service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday.
