Harvey Earl “Dewey” Shaulis Jr., 53, of Acosta, died May 3, 2023 at home. Born July 27, 1969 in Somerset, son of Harvey Sr. and Eva (Charlton) Shaulis, Friedens. Also survived by his wife of 33 years his “Sweets” the former Melissa Blank. Children who he was very proud of: Nicole married to Ryan Nasewicz, Nathan married to the former Jocelyn Mort, and Jeremy married to the former Jordyn Horner. Harvey had 5 grandchildren who were the light of his life: Colton, Abigail, Aubrey, Emma, and Maya. Also survived by brothers: Josh and Mike (Chrystal) Shaulis. He will be greatly missed by many, especially his loving dog Teddy. He was a 1987 graduate of Somerset High School and Vo-Tech. Harvey was a great father and provider for his family, always putting them first. He worked hard all his life mostly as a coalminer, most recently for Corsa Coal. He was the jack of all trades and a handyman. Harvey loved being outdoors, hunting, fishing with his wife and children, and NASCAR. He had a love-hate relationship with the Steelers. Harvey was a fighter and the toughest man around, some may consider him a legend. Member of Jenner Rod and Gun Club and Hollsopple Sportsmen’s. Family will receive friends from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown, where service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday. Pastor Kurtis Frampton officiating. Interment Beulah Cemetery.
