Hazel L. (Shuck) Mostoller

Hazel L. Mostoller, 94, Friedens, died Feb. 27, 2020 at home. Born Oct. 6, 1925 in Meyersdale, daughter of Charles and Louise (Zipfel) Shuck. Preceded in death by parents, husband Elmer B., and sons James and Wayne. Survived by daughter Patricia married to Paul Martin, Johnstown; daughter-in-law Cindy married to Roger Newman; grandchildren: Thomas (Katey), Michael (Courtney), Justin (Heather), and Ryan Mostoller, Jennifer (Jeffrey) Knepper, Jessica (John) Davis, and Tracy (Jeremy) Intihar; 14 great grandchildren; and 2 great great grandchildren. She was a 1943 graduate of Somerset High School and a 1946 graduate of Mercy Hospital School of Nursing, Pittsburgh. She served as a U.S. Cadet Nurse. She was a former employee of Somerset Hospital and also did private and home nursing. She lived on the family farm in Coleman Station for 44 years and was often called the Mayor of Coleman Station. Member of Friedens Lutheran Church, 55 Speeders, and Stoystown Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed baking, playing games, doing puzzles, and spending time with friends and family. A special thanks to Bob Zolla, Donna, and Heidi. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Friedens Lutheran Church and 10 a.m. until service at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church.
