Hilda A. (Kerschensteiner) Watkins

Hilda A. Watkins, 92, Berlin, died May 23, 2024 at Meadow View Nursing Center. Born September 5, 1931 in Meyersdale, daughter of Carl and Hilda (Shultz) Kerschensteiner. Preceded in death by parents, her beloved husband Roy Watkins, and brother Philip Kerschensteiner. Survived by several nieces and nephews. She was a 1949 graduate of Salisbury High School and was formerly employed as a window dresser at the former G.C. Murphy’s in Meyersdale, and had also worked at Snyder’s of Berlin and Sew Neat. Member of Beachdale Church of the Brethren where she sang in the choir and played the piano for many years and the Beachdale C.O.B. Women’s Fellowship Group. She enjoyed doing craft work, working in her flower garden, camping, and making braided rugs. The family would like to thank Meadow View and Interim Hospice for their wonderful care. Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Deaner Funeral Home, Berlin, where service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday. Rev. Tammy Horner officiating. Interment Beachdale Cemetery.
