Homer Kreinbrook Obituary

Homer H. Kreinbrook, 82, Berlin, passed away peacefully April 9, 2023 at UPMC Shadyside Hospital. Born May 27, 1940 in Connellsville, he was the son of Wilmer and Belle (Hoffer) Kreinbrook. Preceded in death by his parents and sister Lana Jean Foor. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Mary L. (Ludy) Kreinbrook; children: Homer (Andrea Croner) Kreinbrook Jr., Pamela (Gary) Crider, and Parke (Leah Jarosz) Kreinbrook; grandchildren: Maeve Kreinbrook, Hayden Stackowitz and fiancée Lexi Bulger, Brittany (Kenny) Leech, and Courtney (Josh) Wiltrout; and great-grandsons Oakland Stackowitz and Lincoln Wiltrout. Homer is also survived by his brother Stuart (Marla) Kreinbrook, brother-in-law Webster “Buddy” Foor, and many nieces and nephews. Homer graduated from Berlin Brothersvalley High School in 1958. After graduation he joined the Pennsylvania National Guard and then served in the U.S. Army V Corps as a nuclear demolition specialist. Homer worked as a Sales Supervisor for Snyder of Berlin for 44 years. He was a member of Holy Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Berlin, where he served as a janitor and on church council. During his life he was very active in the community: he was a former member of the Berlin Area Volunteer Fire Department, the Berlin American Legion, Boy Scout master, former president of the Berlin Area Jaycees, and coached for the Berlin Area Little League. Homer enjoyed spending time with his family, especially hunting and fishing with his sons with numerous trips to Alaska. He also enjoyed golf outings with them. Homer was always busy with various wood working projects and created many treasured heirlooms for his family. He was also an avid gardener and took great pride in his backyard garden. He enjoyed our many family dinners and picnics – being with family was his top priority. He also enjoyed time with his grand puppies Gigi, Louis, Blue, and grand cat Charlie. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 6704, Hagerstown, MD, 21741; or Holy Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 525 Main Street, Berlin, PA, 15530.
