Ina Marie (Shirk) Miller

Ina Marie Miller, of Somerset formerly of Hooversville, died July 21, 2024, 2 days before her 100th birthday at Somerset Senior Living (The Heritage). Born July 23, 1924 in Hooversville, daughter of Jacob and Verle (Shriner) Shirk. Preceded in death by parents, husband of 69 years Roy Miller, brothers: Jacob Jr. and Blair Shirk, and sisters: Mary Moore, Mae Clark, Alma Miller, and Ruth Pumphrey. Survived by children: Lois married to Dean Gindlesperger, James married to the former Kellie Stallman, and Jay married to the former Lisa Gisbrecht; grandchildren: Stephanie (Keith) Hay, Ashley (Phillip) Joyce, and Jacob (Krystle) Miller; step grandchildren: Corry Gindlesperger, Nea Lepley, and Brittany (Jason) Falchek; great grandchildren: Ryan, Alex, Wyatt, Logan, Caiya, and Maylie; step great grandchildren: Matthew, Mickey, and Lexi; and sister Jane Shirk. She was a graduate of Hooversville High School and a former employee of Dorfman-Hoffman Sewing Factory, Boswell. Member of Kantner United Methodist Church and Farm Women. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, piecing quilts, and walking. The family is grateful for the care they received from the staff of Somerset Senior Living and Viaquest Hospice. Family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown, where service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday. Pastor Andrew Broucher officiating.
