Jacob Shaffer Obituary

Jacob Aaron “Jake” Shaffer, 28, of Stoystown, lost his battle with addiction on Saturday, May 16, 2020. Born Feb. 28, 1992 in Somerset, son of David and Amy Shaffer, Stoystown. Preceded in death by grandfather Bill Shaffer. Jake was a loving father to his son Braxton Eli Shaffer. He is also survived by his brother Eli (Jamie) Shaffer; nephew Waylon and niece Evelynn Shaffer; grandmothers: Sandy Tressler and Shirley Shaffer; favorite aunts: Toni (Earl) Porterfield, Patty (Joe) Cummings, and Debbie (Roger) Blough; cousins: Billy Blough, Cindy Delani, Lexi Kreger, and Ryan Cummings; and many, many friends. He was a 2010 graduate of North Star High School. Jake was a “Jack of all Trades” for Shaffer Construction, best known for beautiful bathrooms. There was nothing he couldn’t fix with his mechanical skills. He enjoyed working on cars (many in Somerset Co.), dirt bike riding, where he was the king of wheelies, and spending time with family. Due to the current public health concerns a private service will be held with Rev. Michael Dunlap officiating. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be given to Braxton Eli Shaffer Fund, C/O Somerset Trust, P.O. Box 126, Hooversville, PA 15936. Arrangements entrusted to Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown. Condolences can be offered at DeanerFuneralsAndCremations.com
