James C. Emerick

James C. Emerick, 77, of Stoystown, died Nov. 15, 2023. Born Sept. 3, 1946 in Stoystown, son of Curtis and Mary (Yoder) Emerick. Preceded in death by parents, daughter Tammy Emerick, brother William Emerick, and sisters: Helen Fieg Stowers, Dorothy Meyers, Mary Jane Ohler, and Betty Emerick. Survived by wife of 50 years the former Linda Powell; daughter Melinda Emerick; sisters: Sally Rice and Alberta (Everett) Burt; and his dogs: Jack, Jill, and Rosie. He was a graduate of Forbes High School and a Vietnam Era Army Veteran. Retired Heavy Equipment Operator for Fieg Bros Coal. Member of Stoystown American Legion Post 257, Kennells Mills Sportsman’s Club, and Jenner Rod and Gun Club. He enjoyed farming, making hay, cutting wood, and spending time with his family. Jim was a loving Husband and Dad, who will be greatly missed. Family will receive friends from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown, where service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday.
