James Frank Etris, 80, Berlin, went to be with our Lord December 17, 2022 at UPMC Somerset Hospital. Born November 22, 1942 in Woodbury, NJ, son of the late Frank John and Freda (Eckels) Etris. Survived by his wife of 58 years, the former Suzanne Krause; children: Tami (Charles) Heiple and Scott (Michelle) Etris; grandchildren: Bryce Heiple, Laura (Jacob) Craig, Ashley (Nick) Stockwell, Jenna (Matt Rowland) Etris, and Isaac Etris; great grandchildren: Camden, Cora, Crew, Finley, and Theo; and brothers: Robert (Gail) Etris and David (Suzanne) Etris. He was a 1961 graduate of Woodbury High School and was a Vietnam War era Navy veteran, serving a tour of duty with the ceremonial guard in Washington, D.C. He was part owner and manager of Krause True Value Hardware and was retired from Briggs industries. Member of Berlin Christian and Missionary Alliance Church where he served as a communion steward, deacon, and trustee. He enjoyed gardening, his summer trips to his vacation home in Ocean City, MD, helping at Berlin Market, and spending time with his grandchildren. Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Berlin Alliance Church. Rev. Jim Kunes officiating. Interment Berlin I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
