James W. Ferguson, 86, Berlin, died March 10, 2025 at UPMC Somerset. Born March 8, 1939 in Fairhope, son of James Jessie and Kathleen Ruth (Holler) Ferguson. Preceded in death by parents, grandson John Ferguson, and brother Merle Ferguson. Survived by his wife of 66 years, the former Sandra Jean Leydig; son Jay M. Ferguson and friend Shelley Moskey, Berlin; daughter Sherrie J. and husband Michael Floyd, Columbia, S.C.; grandchildren: Adam (Robin Sinnett) Ferguson, Sara Ferguson, Kaitlyn Morgan, and Mackenzie (Mclain Wilkinson) Morgan; great grandchildren: Sophia and Tobias Ferguson and a great grandson on the way. He was a 1957 graduate of Berlin Brothersvalley High School and was a retired communications maintainer for CSX. Member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Berlin, New Baltimore Sportsmen’s Club, North Branch Hunting Club, Masonic Lodge 358, Somerset, NRA, and was a former Assistant Scout Master for Troop 135. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed bus trips, watching NASCAR, the Steelers, and Penn State football, and spending time with his family. Family will receive friends from 9 a.m. until service at 11 a.m. Friday at Deaner Funeral Home, Berlin. Rev. Robert Keplinger officiating. Interment Berlin I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
