James Douglas “Runt” McKenzie, 71, Berlin, died August 13, 2023 at home. Born November 3, 1951 in Cumberland, MD, son of Betty (Porter) McKenzie of Glencoe and the late Augustus “Fatty” McKenzie. Survived by his mother, of Glencoe; his wife of 15 years, the former Norma Jean Henson; children: Brenda (Chip Romesberg) McKenzie and Eric (Jessica) McKenzie; stepchildren: Bobby Eugene Williams and Beverly Jean Lookadoo; grandchildren: Kelsey Foor, Blake DeArmitt, and Lexi McKenzie; brothers and sisters: Marsha (Scott Miller) Kosic, Marilyn Heiple, Teena (Brian) Webreck, Joseph (Tammy) McKenzie, Martin (Mary Ann) McKenzie, Lori (Stac) Reid, Julie (Brian Costea) McKenzie, Wendy (Kevin) Boyer, Heidi (Kyle) Keefer, and Suzie (Derrick) St. Clair; numerous nieces and nephews; and special friend Scott Foor. He was a 1969 graduate of Berlin Brothersvalley High School and was a Vietnam War Army Veteran. He was a dragline operator for PBS Coals, was co-owner of McKenzie and Sons Logging, did maintenance for Philson Bank, and was an inspection mechanic for RTI until his retirement. Member of VFW Post 7295, Berlin and was a former member of the Berlin VFD. He loved fishing, hunting, gardening, going to the beach, and spending time with his family.
