James Ronald Brant, 85, Berlin, entered his eternal home on Oct. 2, 2021 at home. Born March 13, 1936 in Stoystown, son of the late William and June (Zimmerman) Brant. Survived by his wife of 65 years, the former Barbara Mosholder; daughters: Cindy (Brad) Walker, Melissa (Brad) Fox, and Angela (Barry) Klink; grandchildren: Erica (Jamie) Salsgiver, Adam (Jill) Walker, Gretchen (Chad) Manthey, Jill (Jason) Peck, Rebekah (Justin) Hillegass, Jarred (Alicia) Fox, Sam (Aimee) Shober, Kylie (Anthony Grundy) Shober, and Janna (David) Mock; 17 great grandchildren; brother Bill Brant; and sisters: Sally Mattaliano, Susan Rankin, and Judy Fisher. Jim attended Somerset area schools and is a member of North Ridge Baptist Church. He was employed by Agway and was later a farmer. He prided himself by being an “Outstanding Dairy of Distinction" recipient. Member of the Berlin Chapter of Young Farmers, receiving “Outstanding” district and state chapter awards, 4H Leader of Brotherton Belles and Beaus 4H club, REC board member, Agway committeeman, and Stonycreek Twp. Auditor. He was a skilled craftsman, building houses, remodeling, and making furniture. Family and friends are welcome to celebrate Jim’s life at North Ridge Baptist Church on Tuesday at 6 p.m. Pastor Greg Knupp officiating. His grandson Sam Shober will deliver the memorial message.
