James Roger Schrock, 86, Harmar Twp., was called home Aug. 12, 2021. Born May 24, 1935 in Meyersdale, son of Hiram W. and H. Marie (Hauger) Schrock. Preceded in death by parents, wife of 39 years the former Freda Bittinger, brother Eugene (Edith Morgan) Schrock, sister Betty Mae Schrock, son-in-law Lawrence “Jerry” Heffron, and grandchildren: Gina and Dillion Heffron. Survived by sons: Leroy (Amy), Pittsburgh, Bruce (Liz), Apopka, FL, and Edward (Jennifer), Plum; daughter Shari Heffron, Harmar; grandchildren: Gigi, Casey, Chelsea, Amanda, Tyler, Max, Jesse, Jacob, Danica, Chalsie, Chase, Rachel, and Leroy Jr.; and great grandchildren: Kahlil, Viktor, Maverick, Jace, Esfir, and Willow Mae. He was a 1954 graduate of Berlin Brothersvalley High School and was an Air Force Veteran. Retired medical technologist for the VA Hospital, Aspinwall, and UPMC Shadyside. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and visiting family in his native Somerset County. He was an avid Pittsburgh Pirates, Steelers, and PSU fan. James was a devoted husband, loving father, dotting pappy, and kind uncle. He will be dearly missed. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Deaner Funeral Home, Berlin, where service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday. Rev. Jay Shaffer officiating.
