Janet Arvilla (Benning) Gindlesperger

Janet Arvilla Gindlesperger, 96, Berlin, died April 12, 2022 at Somerset In Touch Hospice House. Born September 1, 1925 in Fairhope, daughter of John Edward and Mary Amanda (Ellenberger) Benning. Preceded in death by parents, husband George “Yump”, son Wayne Benning, and sisters Imogene Stiffler, Betty Landis, and Carol Duppstadt. Survived by her daughter Georgia married to Carl Pope, Hanover, MD; sister Judy Suder, Berlin; brother Larry (Audrey) Benning, New Baltimore; and numerous nieces and nephews. She graduated from Hammond Beauty School, Johnstown. She was a Berlin beautician for over 70 years. Member of Trinity United Church of Christ, Berlin, Berlin American Legion Auxiliary and Berlin Fire Co. Auxiliary. Former president of Berlin Businessmen’s Association. She was a wonderful cook and baker. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Deaner Funeral Home, Berlin where service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday. Rev. Dr. David A.
