Jeff Gavel

Jeff Gavel, 73, Berlin, passed away after a courageous cancer journey on January 9, 2026 at home. Born November 8, 1952 in Somerset, son of Stephen and Emma Gean (McGee) Gavel. Preceded in death by his parents and brother Jerry. Survived by his wife of 27 years, the former Cindy Maust; step son Josiah Cook; brother Joe (Denise) Gavel; nieces: Joni Gavel and Emily (Craig Brown) Gavel; and great niece Dahlia Brown. He was a 1971 graduate of North Star High School. Jeff was employed by Crane Co. for 26 years in the Quality Control Dept. before becoming an electrician with Ridge Electric for 16 years until retiring. He was a lifetime member of the NRA. Jeff had a large Lionel train layout and collection. He loved cutting firewood and working in the yard and garden. There will be no viewing or service at Jeff’s request.
