John Ellis Berkey

John Ellis Berkey, 82, of Somerset, died July 29, 2024 at Somerset Senior Living (The Heritage). Born Dec. 9, 1941 in Milford Twp., son of John H. and Elsie M. (Fenslau) Berkey. Preceded in death by parents, first wife Linda Louise (Knupp) Berkey, and sisters: Catherine Gallagher and Edith Seifert. Survived by his wife Sienna Davis; son Michael Ellis (Mary) Berkey; grandchildren: Jessica (Steve) Borosky, Amanda Mankoski, and Michael J. Berkey; great grandchildren: Brooks and Brandt Berkey, Gabriella McKenzie, and Colton Mankoski; step children: Brett (Mari) and Bradley Rhea, and Brandy (Dan) Coplan; and step grandchildren: Ciara and Natasha Rhea, and Violet Coplan. He was a graduate of Rockwood High School and retired from Coleman Co./Fleetwood Folding Trailers. He was a licensed pilot and loved animals. Member of Somerset Aero Club and F.O.E. 1801 since 1981, where he was a past Worthy President. He volunteered for C.P.L. (for service dogs) and the Humane Society of Somerset Co. He loved spending time with family and sitting on the back porch watching birds. Family will receive friend 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown, viewing from 10 a.m. until service at 11 a.m. Friday at Grace United Methodist Church, Somerset. Rev.
