John Thomas Lody, 92, of Central City, died January 25, 2024 at Meadow View Nursing Center. Born June 20, 1931 in Central City, son of the late Alex and Antoinette “Nettie” (Stosick) Lody. Survived by sons: Everett (Marcella) Lody and John J. (Angela) Lody; grandchildren: Michael (Angela), Kelly (Cody), John “Caleb”, Caden, Griffin, and Bryce; 7 great grandchildren; and sisters: Mary Lou (Michael) Pribish and Patricia Ching. Also survived by wife the former Darlyne Hawrylak, and daughter Lucy (James) Crichfield. He was a graduate of Shade-Central City High School. Korean War Army Veteran and survivor of Outpost Harry, whom received the Korean Service Medal, 2 Bronze Stars, and the Combat Infantryman Badge. He was the owner/operator of Lody’s Barbershop for 55 years. Member of Our Lady Queen of Angels Catholic Church, and Central City V.F.W. and American Legion. He enjoyed whittling, woodworking, and being outdoors. Family will receive friends from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Mulcahy Funeral Home, Central City. Funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Our Lady Queen of Angels Catholic Church (Sacred Heart), Central City. Rev. Aron Maghsoudi celebrant. Committal Sacred Heart Church Cemetery.
