John M. Lynch, 81, of Davidsville, formerly of Somerset, died Feb. 25, 2026 at UPMC Altoona. Born Nov. 13, 1944 in Chambersburg, son of Jennings and Martha (Peck) Lynch. Preceded in death by parents, wife the former Joan Knopsnyder, stepson Scott Walker, and brother-in-law Joel Friedline. Survived by stepsons: Rick and Michael Walker; step granddaughters: Samantha and Heather Walker; brothers: William (Barbara), Gary (Nancy), and Donald (Karen) Lynch; and sister Mary Friedline. He was a graduate of Jenner Boswell Joint High School and a graduate of Indiana State Teacher’s College. John was a Vietnam War Army Aviation Veteran and a retired heavy equipment operator. Member of Reading Grace Brethren Church and Stoystown American Legion. He enjoyed golfing, reading, playing guitar, and Bible Study at Laurel View Village. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Laurel View Village for their compassionate care. Family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until a memorial service at 11 a.m. Saturday at Reading Grace Brethren Church. Rev. Larry Weigle officiating. Graveside Military Honors by the Somerset Co.
