John Edward Saylor, 90, Stoystown (Jenners) went to be with the Lord April 21, 2026. Born December 14, 1935 in Berlin, son of Charles and Annie (Gindlesperger) Saylor. Preceded in death by parents, wife of 40 years the former Viola Klink, son Jay Hay, Jr., sisters Helen Witt, Mary Saylor, and Phyllis Cober, brothers-in-law Paul Witt and William Cober, and brothers Richard and Carl Saylor. Survived by children: Kathy Jane Hay, Bill (Karen) Hartge, Cathy (Rodney) Koontz, and Donna Hay; daughter-in-law Sandy Hay; grandchildren: Jessie (Morris) Hayes, Josh (Ashleigh) Hay, Hope (Tom) Duman, and Heather (Bryan) Hay; great grandchildren: Lukka, Fletcher, Emory (Ashlyn), Justin, Camrian, Falyn, Zariah, Matthew, Alyssa, Hannah, and Noah; numerous great great grandchildren; brother Robert (Darlene) Saylor; sister Shirley (Ed) Reed; sisters-in-law Lois Saylor and Karol Saylor; and numerous nieces and nephews. He worked in construction and as a carpenter, building houses for many years. He spent his spare time in his woodshop building furniture and cupboards for his home and for others as well. He loved to put puzzles together, make picture frames, and glue them to make pictures. He was loved by everyone and was known as “Pappy John” to all of his grandchildren.
